One hundred percent of tree material removed during the preconstruction activity was recycled or salvaged by Green Waste Recycle Yard in Richmond, California.

Enhanced Views

The development of the Presidio Parkway design has provided a unique opportunity to restore some of the scenic beauty and views of the Presidio and San Francisco Bay.

The Presidio Parkway was designed to better complement the spectacular natural environment. By eliminating the existing bulky, tall concrete structure, motorists and park users will see beyond the ground-level roadway to the Presidio and San Francisco Bay. Portions of the Marina low-viaduct structure will be placed below grade and/or underground which will remove it from the existing landscape. Wide openings along the tunnel entrances will enhance views for motorists and allow for more natural light in these areas.
