Overnight Closure of Northbound Hwy 1 to Northbound Hwy 101, November 4

SAN FRANCISCO - There will be an overnight closure of northbound Highway 1 this weekend as work begins to wrap up on the Ruckman Bridge replacement north of the MacArthur Tunnel. Beginning Friday, November 4 at 9:30 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next morning, the ramp from northbound Highway 1 to northbound Highway 101 will be closed. The closure will begin at Lake Street.

Optional trips should be avoided during this closure.

The closure is weather dependent and may be delayed due to rain. The alternate date for this closure is Saturday, November 5.

See the advisory for maps and detour routes.

Detour Routes
For this closure, motorists traveling northbound on Highway 1 will need to use alternate routes to reach Highway 101.

The signed detour route will take motorists from Highway 1 to Highway 101 via Geary Boulevard/Van Ness Avenue/Lombard Street. This detour route was selected because it is able to carry a high volume of traffic and uses relatively flat streets. The signed detour must be accessible to all vehicles, including large trucks, motor homes, etc.; however, most people will choose their alternate route based on what is most convenient for their trip.
